- High-res should be more than adequate. In fact, a standard-res image isn't
- too bad with this printer since the printer's effective resolution is
- diminished significantly by the dithering it must do to render the varying
- shades.
-
- 1) A 550C or 560C will do noticeably better due to the additional black ink
- cartridge.
-
- 2) Paper choice is important. You can get surprisingly good results on HP
- Glossy "paper". Actually it is a kind of glossy plastic coated sheet.
- unfortunately, it costs about $1 a sheet. The second best paper I have found
- is Avery's "Brilliant" paper. You will recognize it because it has a picture
- of a goldfish on the front. It is kind of thin, but the paper gives good
- colors compared to all others I have tried. It compares favorably with the HP
- glossy paper but isn't glossy and costs about $0.16 a sheet.
-
- 3) I would use Corel Draw. I have version 4.0 and it has some special
- printing options so I assume that 5.0 has the same or better.
-
- 4) Use whatever format that Corel will import. Probably it will import the LW
- targa files directly.
